What is a Fanlisting?

A fanlisting is a place for all the fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing the fanlistings network.

About the RCMP/GRC

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were first organized as the North West Mounted Police, which was created and started by Sir John A. Macdonald (first Prime Minister of Canada). The main objective for this new group was to bring law and order to the 'Canadian west' (present time Saskatchewan and Alberta). Recruitment began September 25th, 1873 and ended in 1874 before the group of 275 men and officers left Dufferin Manitoba.

The N.W.M.P. were responsible for patroling and maintaing order throughout the west and established detachments throughout the prairies. They were also responsible for establishing friendly relations with the First Nations of the area and helped supervise the treaties signed between the First Nations and the federal government.

By 1903 the jurisdiction of the N.W.M.P. had extended to the Yukon and the Artic Coast, and in 1904 King Edward VII bestowed the prefix 'Royal' to their name: Royal Northwest Mounted Police. They are contracted to patrol the newly formed provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, and soon after the northern half of Manitoba. At the beginning of the First World War, they were responsible for border patrol, supervision of enemy aliens and enforcing national security regulations.

In 1920, the RNWMP absorbed the Dominion Police, forming the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and were bestowed the responsiblity of law enforcement for all Canadian provinces and territories.
